Left Rome by train heading north to Pisa. Spent the day wondering around Pisa by myself. The Leaning Tower was so beautiful and such an amazing site to see. Beautiful city, I recommend it to everyone.

I’ve been to such countries as Costa Rica, S Tome & Principe, Thailand and Senegal. And eventually fell in love with where I am right now, in my home office. I look out of the window and see the sky, the tree tops, and it feels perfect, just being here now. Listening to “so-called chaos” – the album that woke me up a few years back. Thank you.

Ugh…so many of the places i’ve been, but one in particular cuz it’s beautiful, small, quiet and oh so romantic even if you’re alone is a pebble of a casino town just outside Colorado Springs called Cripple Creek, it’s a must if you ever feel the need to feel alone….alone or with someone, surrounded by kind community and beautiful scenery!
My favorite place in the world is my boyfriends room, it is a place of comfort and escapism from my stressful world and if I’m lucky, I can be surrounded by his sisters or in his arms and hear the conversations from his family I have to come to love.

My dog’s chest… Her name is Lara and she’s really agitated, but when I’m down she just lay beside me, very quiet. Then I just lay my head on her chest or tummy, so I can hear her breathing, her heart beat. It’s so easy to love her… She keeps trying to teach me how to love everyone else…
Depends.. If I want to think or just to be, I love any place where I can see the sea, at night the sky make the same result. But if I need to feel in peace I go to my living room! xD
Ive never had the money to travel much but the place that makes me feel the most relaxed and at ease is at the sand dunes of lake michigan. The sunsets are beautiful. The huge trees and dunes tower over you. Its my escape from worries and hecktic life.Time seems to slow and mind and body relax.
On the road, discovering new places, meeting new people, experiencing new things.
The excitement of Amsterdam is hard to beat. The beauty of hundreds of bicycles moving easily to and fro work was inspiring enough to change our thinking. When we moved back to the states we opted for one vehicle and bike options to get us where we need to go. Bellingham definitely suits our lifestyle now.
Lake Birrabeen on the worlds largest sand island, the world heritage listed Fraser Island in Queensland, Australia.
The purest, fine white powdery sand that I have ever had the pleasure of leaving my foot prints in. Combined with the most crystal clear, fresh water, all wrapped up in a superb sub tropical climate. I’ve been there a few times and it just makes me glow. Most people go to the largest lake on the island which is fantastic, because on a couple of visits my friends and I have had Birrabeen to ourselves. Being in a celestial place like this with only a few friends and no one else about is quite simply….amazing.

My favorite place on the planet is the place that I´m now, everything is in the right place. Every moment in my life had a favorite place. Where I am now it´s perfect fisically and spiritually. The energy that is expanded from me, touches others and they return it. If there´s something that is not ok, it will change eventually. Im goihng to change it, everyone can change it.
The Isle Of Mann. A place to explore, to watch, to listen. Closely followed by North Yorkshire. It’s not called God’s Country for nowt. Aye lad!

My favorite place on the planet is in my own skin; thanks largely to you, Alanis. As I look back over my early years as a gay teen in a tiny town in Texas, I always seem to be reminded of some ingenious, hyper-intelligent poem that you set to music just for ME at the time. I feel very strongly that it was your music and your own emotional difficulties conveyed through said music that made me feel like I was not the only person on the planet enduring such emotional turbulence in his/her life. I thank you for all you have done for me. I know every word to every song you have ever written or performed and feel an intense connection to your work. I am extremely happy that you are so happy at this point in your life. Turns out, I am happy, too! Please continue to give yourself freely and genuinely, as you always have. Ma favorite place on earth is my bed! Because my bed is the place of my dreams. Then, i realize my dreams whith order and patience. For example, when i was a teenage, i dreamed i walk all over Iceland. I’m thirty now and i realize this old dream this year! Perhaps i will meet you one day Alanis, cause i dreamed of that too

Never really thought of that, but definitely I was stunned when I went in Novi Sad last summer, and went up to Petrovaradin fortress, I don’t know why but the sight from there was so magical, inspiring and lovely. So I guess that automatically became my favorite place and I’m looking forward to going there as soon as possible but this time I’m bringing a book with me.

I have to defer to my dog on this one – it would have to be Ashbridges Bay – close to home – east end, Toronto – I’ve never been to L.A. but my hunch is that it’s a lot like the beaches in L.A. – can’t even begin to articulate how much my doggy loves it there – to see such joy in a beautiful creature – it channels through me

Favorite for what? I have a number of places I love for being quiet and reflective, several that are outstanding for thrills and excitement, still others fill me with wonder, respect and of course gratitude. But a single favorite place does not exist, I’m just happy to be here now.

So far…Hawaii’s north shore.
Sitting on the east rim of the Grand Canyon at Grandview point (preferably during sunset/sunrise). If ever there was a place that lifted my soul to move forward renewed, rejuvenated and at peace with myself, this is it. I need to go there again soon.
Antarctica, it is largely unspoilt, yet still has signs of mans destructive tendencies (e.g. old whaling stations). It is so pristine and unique, yet incredibly fragile.
I´ve never been in a wonderful place like Kyoto, really I went 2 years ago, and now I feel something of me remained there.

My favorite place in the world so far is Brigantine, NJ. I grew up going to this beach my whole life and have so many memories with family and friends there which I will remember for my whole life.
I have two. This man-made lake called Laguna within a walking distance of my grandparents house where I go to think, escape, feed the sand cranes and ducks, and on occasion sneak a cigarette.. And the other would have to be Hawaii, Though I have never been, I’ve always felt an attachment to that place, almost as if its callig me, lol. Aside from the paradise it would be to live there, for me its more the people and there culture that intrigues me the most. (: How about you Alanis?
My favorite place is the coast from Uruguay, all my childhood memories are there, a very peacefull place to see the sun going down. I miss it so much

My favorite place is where ever I am. Peace and comfort comes from within; I did not learn to enjoy any place until my maturity at the age of 40. Beauty surrounds us, I’ve learned to open my eyes and see it. Although, I do enjoy visiting Portland, Oregon.
Simple yet so divine…as a true Northwestern girl…that has been ‘around’ enough…The furthest Northwest Point(by land) of our United States….Cape Flattery out of Neah Bay, WA. Great memories were had with my now, grown kids, before it was recognized as a ‘destination’….PRICELESS!

My favorite place on the planet is any beach on a moonlight night with the stars shining brightly above my head. This place on the planet reminds me of the very first night I met my husband and that very night we drove to Vegas and got married. It was love at first sight (we knew each other less than 24 hours before we were married officially with a license and all in vegas). I love him so much I could not imagine my life without him. EVER. We have fought so hard for our live and our relationship through so many trials and tribulations. We are stronger for it, our love is more intense than ever and I absolutely adore him. I felt an immediate connection with him as soon as we met and I knew he was the one for me. Love at first sight is true. It exists. We are proof.
I’m just so blessed to have him in my life. No matter what has happened to us and around us – we have stuck together and remained loyal to one another. He makes me laugh so much and I know he loves me too. I am so blessed to be a part of your website I feel. Thank you for allowing us to comment posts. I really hope you read them. Do you ever write back?

I could say: “the sea ’cause is misterious and dangerous” I could say “my home ’cause is my shelter” but I think that my favorite place in the world is inside myself.
My fave place is definetely my bed:it’s where I recover my energies, reflect and relax. There I feel safe.
Jockey’s Ridge, North Carolina is probably my favorite place on the planet. It lies on the Outer Banks and is close to Kitty Hawk. It is awe inspiring and the view is just beautiful. I find myself at peace there when my mind is full of chaos. I just talk in the visual beauty, sink my feet in the sand, smell the salt water air, and forget my problems for a little while. If you haven’t been there – you should definately check it out!
I’m glad that now everyone’s response to the questions of the month are able to be posted – it makes me feel like there’s not a competition going on; however, I do miss seeing my entry that was chosen in August and posted on the old website…and I still check my mail everyday thinking that maybe today I’ll get my Alanis gift and then I look forward to the next day when I can look again and hope.

I love discovering new places, and that place usually becomes my new favorite. It is the experience that I embrace more that the physical location. However, World End State Park in PA, happens to be a place of restoration for me.

My favorite place has been and always will be Panama City Beach, Fla. I’ve been going to this town on the Gulf of Mexico practically every year since I was 14 years old (I just turned 46 in 2011). There’s no other place where I can collect myself better than listening to the steady waves kissing the shore of the sandy-white beaches. I’ve made so many incredible memories there almost every year since 1980. It’s the best place on earth for me to feel fully integrated with every age I’ve ever been. In other words, I rarely feel as complete and at peace as when I’m at Panama City Beach, Fla.
My favorite place in the whole world is the nook of my mom’s shoulder. There’s a soft place where her neck and shoulder meet that always smells like flowers and something unique to Moms, and whenever I hug her, I nuzzle in really close and take a big whiff. No matter where I am geographically, if I can take a moment in that nook, that warm and loving place, I am home.
Old Burial Hill, Marblehead MA. a little old graveyard on a hill. with a grand view of the ocean, in a small quiet town. beautiful place for a picnic. or to just sit and think. always quiet, ever peacefull. I’ve spent many nights just meditating atop the hill.

Fuerteventura! In the Canary Islands. It’s my favorite because I grew up there. As a person born on the beaches and deserts. I love to travel there several times a year, because it enriches me as a person and forces me to confront the problems. When married to my partner and we raise a precious child, I will take that way. It’s my biggest dream: To form a family. Facia look to the future without forgetting the past and still live in the present!
My favourite place on earth is definitely Tunnels beach at sunset on the island of Kauai, HI! The light on the deserted beach at time of sunset with the mountains in background and the sound of the ocean waves is just amazing! If i could teleport myself i’d go there every day at sunset.
black rock city nv during the burningman art festival. only there will you meet the most incredible and amazingly giving souls this plane has to offer. see exactly what the human spirit really is out there. do it at least once before you pass and you will go every year….
Terra Firmacally speaking my favorite place so far is birdwatching Sycamore Canyon in SE Arizona.
Spiritually speaking, my favorite place on earth is in any catholic church on my knees in front of the Blessed Sacrament praying to God/Jesus/Holy Spirit.
For me, it’s on the pier in Seaside Park NJ listening to Alanis and watching the beautiful bay waters crash into the shore. Its the one place on Earth I feel most at peace. Have a blessed day! You are amazing!
My favorite place on Earth is Joao Pessoa in Brazil ’cause is the only place I can feel such unique energy while watching the amazing sunrise and the magic sunset with Ravel’s Bolero as live soundtrack.
I’d have to say Southridge California. It’s a crappy city that got crappier, and now kind of looks like it’s improving. Still, it’s where I grew up and people who live there long enough find some really nice places. There’s a hill you can climb up with a bunch of rocks that look like fists. I’ve never really had the money to travel anywhere else, but I grew up in Southridge so that will probably stay my favourite place. Unless I get to go to Ireland…
The beach!
Pymatuning Lake in Pennsylvania! So peaceful and quiet.
My favorite place on the planet…would be winter of upstate NY, in my mother’s house for xmas with the fire roaring from the fireplace, and me cuddled up with my mother as the day comes to a close… I can’t think of any other place that gives me more of a sense of peace, security, relaxation and love.
San Diego, I love it there, would love to move there, if only the job market was stronger. I was born in Cali, when ever i go back i find myself at peace there plus i love the ocean, it has a calming effect on me. It puts everything back into perspective.

This place is warm and essential. Where is that? Simply in her eyes while she’s smiling and laughing. Why? Because of grace.
My favorite place on this planet is in my head , it is where the peaceful symphony of nature puts us all to sleep and the running waters pace our days. Animals roam freely amoungst all humans and people truly love each other without the need of total devastation to overlook our differences. In this place my daughter is happy because she can then love and be loved without ridicule from those who judge and hate. It’s a place where we are unconditionally free to be without fear!

I have not traveled too much yet in my life but I miss South America Chile. I also really want to visit India.
My favourite place is wherever I happen to be at the time! Every place can be special if you decide it is special in your mind.
When I was about 9, I lived down the road from some woods. If you walk through them there is an open field with grassy hills and open sky. If I were to go back to that place now, it would look much different (and has probably been built upon), so I stay away from there to keep that memory unspoiled and happy.
By the ocean…it’s the most peaceful place I have found for my soul.
My favourite place on the planet is Cape Split in Nova scotia. It’s a hugely spiritual place where powerful ocean currents rip and tear around the base of soaring cliffs and equally strong spirtual currents fill the air. Years ago my life was flipped over by visiting there and when i returned i was obssessed with finding out all i could about the reasons for existence.. I go back every couple years when the call to return gets loud enough. I love anywhere in nature that the spiritual energies are strong enough to pierce our human armor, this spot is the most powerful i’ve ever found.
