As someone who has struggled with anorexia, I thank you for writing this!
Thank you Alanis, for saying what the world desperately needs to hear.
If They eat, they are fat.
If they don´t eat, They have anorexia
If they´re involved in a scandal, they are crazy.
If they disapear from the media, they are useless
If they have a “weird” nose, they are ugly
If they go for a plastic surgery, they are plastic people
If they do work out, they are vain
If they do not work out, they are lazy people
It can go on and on
Really Alanis, what are you doing there?
Not easy to live sorrounded by all these superficial things. This is unreal
I liked of post. I think that people in general no matter with the health of body but if matter with other opinions of other people obout your body

Dear Alanis,
Thank you so much for sharing on this topic. I have looked up to you long before I knew you struggled as I have with body image and food. The strength, courage, peace, and self-love you exude is such an encouragement for me and others around the world. I wish you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving and holiday season!
Much Love!
Such a necessary and refreshing article! I especially like your suggestion to “see “unwanted weight” as that-which-has-yet-to-be-investigated, rather than as a stamp of our confirmed inadequacies.” Thank you.
Great read, as usual.
theres not many people like you in the world, or anyone whos joined this site.
Thank you for being real and true, it is very refreshing to see and know hollywood cant change everyone.

After reading this, it reminded me of my sister and how I felt toward her after her boyfriend dumped her. She was crying on the couch for days, and I basically attempted to avoid her. I had my own long term relationship and was scared of her devastation. After my own break up, I realize we need to confront our feelings.
Dear Ms. Morissette:
This is the first time I research how to write to a ‘high-profile’ person such as yourself and I address you as Ms. Morissette as I wish to show my respect and the honour that it is to have the opportunity to reach out to you, something that before the advent of Internet would have been impossible. Thank you for your willingness to receive feedback from the community.
I write because as soon as I read the article in a local Vancouver, BC Canada newspaper about your “coming out” about your struggles with food and body issues I was compelled to seek you out. I wish to express my utmost admiration, as many others have, for the courage it takes to expose one’s vulnerabilities especially when in the ‘spotlight’ and unfortunately, ‘judgements’ of so many people. Sadly I understand all too well what you are going through yet in the process of recovery myself I wish to extend my love and well wishes. Please never doubt the strength inside of you that has always wished to be expressed and manifested in you taking care of your body and more importantly your soul/Being which is the recipient of our actions (that mirror our beliefs). I wish you are able to daily reach within you to that Infinite source of strength inside of us to follow the paths that bring you the most fulfillment and joy which are our Divine Right to claim. You are Beautiful and DESERVE to treat yourself with the respect and self-love and compassion that you should never deny yourself. I don’t want this to turn into a sermon; I just want to reach out to you and wish you find the power to love yourself likek only you can. God bless and I send you best wishes and love. Namaste. I hope you read this and take solace in that you are not alone and that what you did (not feeling shame in expressing your vulnerability by publicizing your struggles) takes immense courage which you should be proud about. Thanks for letting me reach out. Cheers
You speak directly to my soul with this article!! Thank you Alanis, much Love to you and yours <3
This was such a beautiful article. Thank you for writing it.
Thank you for this article, it reminded me of a beautiful song a friend wrote and performed…not sure if I can leave a link to it, but will try…the words in this song show how all the dieting, being “skinny” or being “fat” doesn’t do anything to change what is deep down inside the person struggling. Here is the link, I hope everyone enjoys this song that always brings tears to my eyes…much peace..
