in the land of myths and legends, if you had to name your archetype, which would it be and why? (king queen princess court jester, advisor, the trickster, the villain, the witch etc.)

I would consider myself the prince of a dying country. I am proud, young, intelligent and handsome – however I have lacks in my life. I consider myself having a good, easy life – often times carefree. However, my dying country helps me remember I don’t have it all and that I don’t always have absolute control over the happenings in my life.
i feel like i have been every one of those archetypes within my lifetime i have no idea what i prefer being though…sorry i really didnt answer your question. which makes it a very interesting question.
Well, my ex-boyfriend and his family have recently called me a witch on facebook, but I don’t think I am a witch, haha.. I would like to think I would be an advisor as I tend to see things from many perspectives and hopefully I would be able to impart some wisdom.
Cinderella or sleeping beauty..waiting for something magical that is about to happen and that will change everything. <3
Nice question !!!!!
Not how I want(ed) to break the ice: As this is factuallt the Birthday of one Bonnie mi. Baker-Johnson that is older than a ma of a second marriage to Robert the Bruce Baker born in 1906.04.17 of German and Irish Royal and anscestry
I was going to say more than I’m an old enoght for a slipper fitting introduction in your home where you are also a servant at your 45. Want some crystal quick silver manna tonge tasty or just parent approval posirioning employer royalty contractions?
Dear Wife Assisted Royalty Frachises sometimes call for initiations that lead to the most restful stillnesses one would care to awaken from in a kiss. Yiu are invited to interceede my omnivouring a Famous Star as Prince Placer, but near the Good Karma Vegan Café
Empress Sarah is what I would respond to in a land of legends. The name Sara is derived from princess in Hebrew, as far as I know. And princess is a lovely title, but I strive to rise above my meagre beginnings and thrive as Empress of my own Empire.
Amphitrite! I’ve always loved the ocean, the dolphins and I think Poseidon had evil intentions.
The Elemental, a law unto itself, old as time itself, unbridled, and uncontrollable, neither wholly light nor dark with the power to create as well as destroy. Yup.
I would be the Witch. Immersing myself in the magic of the universe and discovering (or remembering) my own power. Exploring and uncovering the mysteries of alchemy and surrendering to the flow of all things. Laughing and dancing wildly through cyclical existence with complete awareness and groundedness. As above, so below!
MORPHEUS, GOD OF DREAMS. The one who can appears in the dreams of the people. Work in their imaginary world. Make their lives sweeter than reality. From the word Morphine, which cuts the pain off. I love dreams.
THIS IS SO WEIRD..I work in Childcare and today with the children I did some role playing- In our fairyland castle and each child got to choose what they wanted to be…and I was left with being the Jester hahaha I had the hat on me and everything, they carried the game on for the whole day, Great minds think alike Alanis xox
The Witch. ‘cus I believe in the power of words, in the force of nature and in the thoughts. And because every women is kinda Witch.
Love you xoxo from Brazil
Maybe, the old and misterious witch with a lot of magicians books and stranges potions. Alone forever, with the power to be any animal I want. And every night I fly with my broom to find new ingredients to my potions.

O malandro para lidar de forma inteligente com as diferenças que existe no mundo. Seria um malandro do bem…
Oracle, because i can give good and bad advice, and normally I deduce what will be happening… (not magically way…)
This group fits me because with my sense of humor I can get to know people easier.
I would be an elf with magic bred into my core being.
The Jester. I love having a good laugh and putting the world to rights. I think you have a good laugh everyday for your well being.
Most definitely the Queen. I am French (Queens are part of my country’s history) strong-willed, cultured, adventurous, curious about the matters of the world, compassionate with others, very traditional and willing to left my imprint in the World.
Good Day Alanis,
I’d like to be a village Philosopher who also has a day job as a masonry worker. In myths & legends, many Wizards started out as Philosophers, so maybe a Good Wizard like Ulric in the movie, “Dragonslayer”.
As for you Alanis, you would probably be, “The Queen Of Rock”. Actually, you already are!
Au Revoir…….
Well I would be a dragon.
A creature that nobody knows, a mistical animal, a lonely creature, fear for no reason.
Living apart of the world, flying around free.
Chased to be slayed, cause nobody understand him.
A dragon!
I’d be the trickster. I feel a connection to the way in which tricksters interact with others. The truth you see in others when they are “hit with a curve ball” is like peeling all the illusions away. In my distrust of others this is my weapon and my defense.
Good Day oswi006,
In myths and legends, not all Dragons are Good. The one in the movie, “Dragonslayer”, was destroying villages, killing people, and killing sacrifices. I guess that you would be a Good Dragon.
Of coruse, my friend, i would be a good dragon.
Sorta “dragonheart”, Draco. I don’t remember well the movie, but I think he was a kind dragon. My chinisse sign is the dragon too, so I loved them even if they haven’t exist at all, or is what we think…
Have a nice day Lawrence!
Villain. Do we not learn the most from our villains, real and imagined?
The archetype of the Warrior suits me. I believe in standing up for what I believe in and those noble virtues such as courage.
LEPREHAUNS!!!!!!!!!! The little happy green creatures we have in Ireland after drinking the magic drinks like Bayleys and Guinness. They are amazing
Ps. LEPRECHAUNS
a mermaid/merman because since i was a child i was in love with this kind of creature maybe because i’ve always lived in a world split in two, half human half something else..
thanks for asking

The wise man/old woman, who talks when is asked and gives advice to the lost hero. I’m not the loudest one to be noticed or show off with anything. When I am turned to with trust, I open up and that’s when I share my “wisdom” and bond with those who can actually appreciate what’s in me.
all of those archetypes are typical for different stages on our path towards personal growth, so we all have opportunity to learn all the lessons they offer at different times in life and differences circumstances. i guess it is not a linear process but it comes in cycles i’m probably a wanderer who transforms into a warrior at the moment because i keep finding what i’m looking for, and now learn (again)how to fight for it, meet completely new challenges, and protect the values i choose to be part of my life philosophy. i’m a former philosopher;). the next step would be the magus.
Dungeon Master – to help to find the way of peace world
Necromancer, purveyor of dark arts and knower of all things, good and evil.
I wouldn’t necessarily be the villain, but it’s certainly a possibility if people have a problem with what I’m doing!
I would have liked to be a troubadour
Hi Alanis,
since the archetype can also be a motiv from literature, I’d have to say “The Little Prince” from Antoine de Saint-ExupĂ©ry. I’m like a princess from another planet. I sometimes wonder about us human beings and I like to question things that seem self-evident.
Best,
M
An orchid.
Nurturer/advisor/teacher. I love the concept of archetypes and really have pondered the idea that we could be subject to such forces in our own lives. There is talk that behind the spiritual veil of this world exists archetypes that form our foundation of reality. What are you, Alanis? I’d love to know the answers to your own questions as well.
I think I would like to be the princess / prince haha, I can not always remember your precious video illusions Alanis misses you! we wait eagerly for June!
Cesar serrano
i feel like a ghost, living in a dark hole, in a place where nothing happens… something invisible and ugly at the same time, something useless and ordinary, a ghost, that’s what i am.
Well my grandmother has a whole room full of boxes of papers on ancestry and genealogy and from what I’m told I’m a direct descendant of King James the 1st. All bloodlines aside I would think of myself as the king of part time musician/ building caretaker / fire/water/wind damage specialist/ carpenter, plumber, bricklayer/ jack of all trades, master of survival. Gotta love the great white north and all of its pros and cons, I’ll end up in California eventually. the music will take us there eventually. Peace. Jeff
Magician. Spent some time in Ireland couple years back and came face to face with a real version of “a land of myths and legends”. Apparently me and my companions had been part of either the giving or the getting of an ancient curse that had affected the lives of many folk. It involved fairies leprechauns black magic and a lot of forgiveness and a huge release from something dark and entrapping.. Too long to go into in detail, but for me a real eye opener into the existence of things that we modern humans relegate to the imaginary. As powerful as that was i still see the magic in our own lives, the transformations and releases we go through if we allow life to guide into our own personal releases as equally powerful and transformative. Being a magician is there for everyone.
If you have a chance, check out Caroline Myss’s book Sacred Contracts. She suggests we identify 7 archetypes to correspond to body chakras or 12 archetypal houses. The short version for me (root to crown) is saboteur, orphan child, femme fatale, victim, puppet, shapeshifter, student. Of course, Caroline also suggests we all have a child type, victim, saboteur, and prostitute (deeper meaning than selling the body for sex). Great question!
I imagine we all see ourselves with elements of all the archetypes. Myself perhaps story teller or adviser to the court…
I think I’m the Fairy Godmother… Helping people to understand that their dreams have already come true, they just can’t se it yet…
In this life I would be the advisor. I am always trying to help people with information. It could be something as simple as telling them about a good deal I saw, or I could try and help someone who is in a situation. I draw from my life experiences and try to guide them in making the best decision for themselves.
I have gone through a session where I experienced a past life moment. I could see people throwing rocks at me. I feel that I may have been a “witch” and that I was being stoned to death. I had been carrying that experience with me throughout this life. It caused me to be embarrassed quite easily and ashamed of myself. Silly as it may sound….I have learned that nothing is going to happen to me if I do something wrong.
Ha I am such a Dreamer, I would be the Hero Knight, after all I was a soldier for 20 years, and fought for the rights of others all my life. protect the week and help those in need.
It’s a very good question! Well, I would be a pirate. A GOOD PIRATE. I would be exploring the world, all the time. I’d be a pirate to travel the world knowing cultures, different people, mainly religions, and many other wonderful things.
I am fascinated by the diversity of peoples and customs that exist in the world.
So, I’d be a pirate, an explorer, always traveling and knowing all this. God bless you! (Brazil)
I would have liked to be a troubadour.
I would have to say Wise Women, or Woman of the Wise Craft.
Personally I think I’d be viewed as the village Idiot, but in the deeper parts that others don’t see, I’d be a philosopher. The wise man everyone took for a fool. Sometimes people need to look closer. It’s like everyone wants to be a hippy at some point in their life (generalization) but the term hippy comes from hypocrite because they would protest against something and then protest against the latter. IE become a hippy. I don’t mean this to be offensive to anyone in anyway. I’m not talking about the culture that emerged from the 60′s but rather the plain shallow glimpse that most people take when they hear something and don’t look into it and gather facts to draw their own conclusions. For instance the price of oil is ridiculous right. These dang oil companies right? No it’s the fact that the oil changes hands 8 times on the way here and it never changes from the boat it’s being shipped in. It’s called futures. The evil investors that keep driving up the price of oil. If the president came out tomorrow and said we are going to drill for oil every were we can in the US (with no intention of actually doing anything) you would see the price of oil plummet to 5 year record lows. If the president was really smart then he would talk with the auto industry heads and get them to make a car run off of ethanol almost entirely and we would use switch grass as the fuel because of the extreme environmental positive effects it would have. Everyone say ethanol doesn’t get a good of mileage but if we had spent billions of $$$ on fuel efficiency of ethanol everyone would be saying the same about oil. But when I tell people we should be putting money into ethanol everyone says I don’t know what I’m talking about.
Fact: for every 1 part of energy you put into switch grass you get 5 parts back out. With corn it’s 1:1.25
Fact: switch grass ethanol (because of the fact that the grass would eat up CO2, NO, & CO) are 96% effective at reducing the pollution they would create. That’s not including emissions from auto manufacturers.
Fact: we have to best area to grow this. It’s called the bread basket. Instead of paying farms to not grow veggies (IE: they grow cows for beef and get paid) pay them to grow switch grass. It grows naturally here (because it’s native) and with the right strains and cloning of such grass we could supply more than our fuel or energy needs which means we have another export.
Henry Ford said in 1925 “The fuel of the future is going to come from fruit like that sumac out by the road, or from apples, weeds, sawdust – almost anything. There is fuel in every bit of vegetable matter that can be fermented. There’s enough alcohol in one year’s yield of an acre of potatoes to drive the machinery necessary to cultivate the fields for a hundred years.”
But still I’d be seen as the fool because I sometimes look to close. Look closer my friends.
Lilith… Because she is misunderstood…She is LABLED EVIL BUT THEY TURNED HER THAT WAY..jesus was labled evil too once… Sometimes the evil creatures are angles
