Banana nut bread. Secret ingredient: mayonnaise.
I love cooking!!! It makes me feel relaxed and I am happy to see that people enjoy what I cook. I am vegetarian and I have a lot of favorite recipes. I love indian food and if I must choose one recipe it will be “indian chickpeas dhal”
I must first translate the recipe, cause I don’t know the names of the spicies and some verbs in english and then I will share
My absolute favourite recipe is a Mediterranean pasta.
Boil fusili pasta, and in a frying pan add oil and lightly cook Hot Hungarian samali. Add in a cup of white wine (riesling or chardonnay) and cook with salami. Then add baby capers and sliced black Spanish olives to lightly cook. Then add a bit over a cup of crushed tomatos and mix.
Finally mix pasta with baby spinach/rocket and serve! Dish also makes a great vegetarian dish; just don’t add salami.
Enjoy Alanis; love from Australia!
*Also should have mention, Hot Hungariab salamis is to be sliced!

Mushroom goulash, Yummy!
2oo gr mushrooms
2 yellow onions
1 red bell pepper
1 tablespoon butter
1 laurel leaf
1 bouillon/stock cube
1 handfull of chopped parsley (not too fine)
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 1/2 cup of buttermilk
pepper & salt
rice or mashed potatoes
Chop mushrooms, onions and bell pepper
Simmer the muschrooms and onions in the butter untill they’re golden brown (margarine or olive oil will do perfectly aswel)
Add the buttermilk, the stock cube, the bell pepper and the laurel leaf and let it slowly boil untill vegetables are done
Add the parsley and bind the sauce with cornstarch (before adding the starch, first add a tablespoon or two of water to the cornstarch and stir, this will prevent lumps of starch in your sauce)
Add salt & pepper to taste.
Delicious with rice or mashed potatoes.
It does need to be for Vegans and Vegetarians or it can be for anyone? Here it goes.

Brigadeiro (Portuguese for Brigadier; also known in some southern Brazilian states as negrinho, literally “blackie”) is a simple Brazilian chocolate bonbon, created in the 1940s and named after Brigadier Eduardo Gomes, whose shape is reminiscent of that of some varieties of chocolate truffles. It is a very popular candy in Brazil and in Portugal and it is usually served at birthday parties, but can also be found at any kind of party.
The candy is made by mixing sweetened condensed milk, butter and cocoa powder together. The mixture is then heated in a pan on the stove or in a microwave oven to obtain a smooth, sticky texture. It usually rolled into balls which are covered in granulated chocolate; that is the way brigadeiros are served at children’s birthday parties. It can also be consumed unrolled, with a spoon or used as a topping or filling for cakes, brownies and other pastries.
This sounds great!! Will be giving it a try out this Easter weekened. Thanks Debora
hope you like. any question just write!!!

My Favourite is Chorizo Chicken
Get 8 pieces of chicken (thighs & legs), 1 clove Garlic, 250grams of Chorizo, 4lb Potatoes, 2 large onions, a large sprig of Rosemary and some olive oil or sunflower oil.
Chop the garlic up and put in the bottom of a cooking tray with the rosemary, a little oil, and a layer of copped onion. then put the chicken on top with Chorizo inbetween and fill the space up over the chicken with the rest of the onions and the potatoes (chopped into small chunks so they cook nice & soft).
mmmmmmmm I can taste it now.
Oh fogot to say drizzle more oil over the top and baste in the juices whilst cooking for an hour to hour & half.

Stoked we’re sharing recipes! I’m forever in the kitchen, but must admit that I never follow a recipe. I just open the fridge or go out to the garden and see what I have and voila! Delicious wholesome food! Will try and think of something that is nummy and post though
Will possibly be a preserve or pickle, as that is what I am getting into at the moment.
I am loving this discussion, btw.
Very M.Stewart-ish!
I discovered these at a Holiday cookie exchange 4 yrs ago–a friend at the party had just had her baby and had zero time to bake–so she made and brought these… and her cookies won by a landslide!
If you want a ridiculously easy, but really good cookie:
Almond Macaroons
1 cup whole blanched almonds
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg white (if you are vegan, you can use almond paste)
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
confectioners’ sugar for dusting
about 16 whole almonds
Grind 1 cup almonds in a food processor with granulated sugar until ground fine.
Add egg white, almond extract, and a pinch salt and pulse until combined.
Roll mixture into 1 inch balls and arrange about 2 inches apart on baking sheet (line w/ parchment paper or use a silpat).
Slightly flatten balls and dust lightly with confectioners’ sugar.
Gently press 1 almond into each cookie.
Bake 10 minutes at 350 or until pale golden.
Enjoy!
MMmm some very yummie recepies!! I’ve seen a few I’d like to try!!
I must have written down a very special recepie! My comment is still “awaiting moderation”
…this would be a recipe for a red curry, but I guess its too much to write it down here!:)
Finally have one
Braised Cavolo Nero. Delicious!
Unfortunately I don’t cook with accurate measurements, so these are just approximate.
1 TBSP fennel seeds
1 tsp chilli flakes (depending on your heat preference)
Garlic (5 cloves or so)
Anchovies x2
Cavolo Nero (stripped from stalk and leaves cut into thick ribbons)
Chicken or vegetable stock
Pop fennel seeds, chilli flakes, garlic and anchovies in med-hot pan with olive and fry till aromatic.
Add Stock and bring to the boil.
Add cavolo nero, salt and pepper and cook at a boil till it starts to wilt (about 4 minutes).
Then reduce to simmer. Braise for approximately 40 minutes till beautifully tender. Delicious with spaghetti!
Right now it’s cheese casaideas. It’s easy to make, cut up your veggies (mushrooms, red peppers, onions are my personal favs). Sauté by first adding the onions n red peps (1/4 cup of each) and 3 table spoons of olive oil. Once they start to soften add the mushrooms and your spices (tarragon, basil, salt, cayenne & black pepper, & minced garlic are my favs note: I just bam it, be careful about the cayenne n garlic, they go a long way). Watch the mushrooms. Once they are nice and soft place in a bowl with a paper towel (to drain the excess oil). Heat up your flower tortoise with the cheese (pepper jack n provolone = favs). Once the cheese starts to soften add the veggies and another layer of cheese and tortoise (don’t forget to cover the pan with a lid). Press with a spatula n once soft push cheese to the edges of the tortoise then flip. Then cut it with a pizza cutter. Yummy
This isn’t original really. I bought a small little baking book a while ago and it has a ‘Red Velvet Cake’ recipe in it. I’ve made it twice now and love it.
My favorite recipe is a ”Cuca Banana”, a traditional banana pie tha we make in the south of Brazil. I like this one because is quick to make and the taste is amazing.Hope you like it.

- 1 cup sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- Two tablets butter
- 3 eggs, beaten in snow (separate the yolks and beat the egg whites)
- Cinnamon powder mixed with sugar
How to Prepare
