Alanis, the show last night at the O2 was again, amazing, I hope you did not get a bruise when you made facial contact with your microphone, you were a true professional continuing. One of the many highlights (all songs were) was when you sang Your House – Stunning!! Come back soon, you lift the spirit of people with your performances :-)

  3. attn tsiegtiez: Alanis & Band performed, “Your House”? Wow. Has Alanis ever revealed whom that song is involved with? (whose house)……..

Love the picture!! You look amazing!! IF I wanted to send you a Christmas gift, where can I send it? I got you something and I want to give it to you.

What a shame you finally didn’t play “London” in… London – that could be EPIC! I really enjoyed your husband set – he’s such a positive and artless person and a great performer (so much better then Athlete).
I hope you got my letter. I asked a security guy if he could give it to you, but he could only put it on stage…

Proving once again that European audiences seem to be more… sophisticated? (or =something=)… than US audiences, Al headlines at a 20K-seater 3 nights after and the night before the =Rolling (f-ing) Stones=. Such quality entertainment, however, is generally reserved for 2K seaters in this country. Actually, one can see it in the media over there vs. over here. So many interviewers and reviewers =get= her cultural transcendence over there… and elsewhere in the world. Over =here=, they’re still wanking on about You Oughtta Know. (Sigh.)

completely agree, english music press are wankers. they are quite happy to wax on about so many others with far less talent & ability than alanis

i mean most of them, i like guy sure a very nice guy and excellent work laying down tracks for alanis, but id really like to see Glen Ballard do the next album or 3 coz in my opinion it was more alternative & interesting, makes me wonder why alanis will not have him back dispite their working differences?

i mean most not all music press,

yes i like guy is a very nice nice guy, his excellent work creating backing tracks for alanis,
no disrespect to Guy, its just that i think Glen Ballard did more interesting groundbreaking stuff with her,
on JLP & especially SFIJ, i wish he will do her next 2 or 3 albums, sure makes me wonder why Alanis will not have him back again dispite their working differences.

now you dissapear off radar (understandably) for another 4 years to live blissfully (we hope) with your hubby and kid, i just feel the wish to say,
the first days that i discovered your music began my heart to grow in size,
since your ideas, talks and words im agreeing mostly ;)
you are an inspiration and wonder in this age of vacous music, films, videogames and other mindless media.
keep truthseeking and telling it soulsi
i believe in you, you are like kin to me, the sis or cousin i never had. id yearn for the biggest and best hug of my life from you

well ive been to see her concerts at front row how many times and so for now the feeling i get personally from Alanis to me is like comparing the way i felt with an art school female teacher everytime i was in her class age 14 and 15, with the teach i got a strong feeling that she didnt like me when we made eye contact a couple of times, she felt uncomfortable with me for whatever nerose reason. about the teach i didn`t care, but just the thought, and then after class one day i kinda tested her reaction with a passing comment somewhere between humor and observation and she quickly smiled a bit nervously, then i thought shes not so mean to me. looking back i think she could`nt figure where i was coming from and there was no i remind you of another freind etc, good vibe thing

yes ive drifted off Guy, but this was the latest thread so i thought someone wld be at home, anyone fancy a yarn?

Seen you in concert 7 times in total. Six times this year!!! Brixton, Paris, Rome, Hamburg, London 02 and Liverpool. Highlights for me Brixton when you messed up Citizen of the Planet, Rome, the whole atmosphere- loved it being outside! Hamburg meeting Julian Coryell at breakfast in my hotel. London 02, bringing my 22 year old daughter with me, she sung her heart out, she has had Alanis etched into her since she was five! Mary Jane was spine chilling and Your House wow, wow, wow!!! Last concert at Liverpool sad times, knew it would be my last concert till I see you again (please don’t leave it four years) Also hearing my 18 year old son singing Tapes, while he was taking a bath the other morning…Thanks for a great 2012, my credit card is blinged to the max, but hey it was worth every penny!!! Peace and love for 2012 xoxox

Opinions are like @$$****s: Everybody has one and I have one, too… though I =surely= expect it will make little difference. But the clutch on my hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis is engaged (anyway), so… here goes: I’ve =no= idea what transpired between Al & Glenn, but their work together seemed superior to what has followed in two regards. One is that it was more musically unusual for its time (sorta like the Beatles’ “Revolver” and “Sgt. Pepper” or Devo’s “Are We Not Men?” light years ago) (I know; calm down) (and Nirvana’s “Bleach” and “Nevermind” in its day?). The Al-Glenn collaboration (especially on JLP) was loaded with hooks of a relatively new kind. Then there’s the matter of “connecting the (conceptual) dots” in the lyrics dept. Her more recent work with other producers is no less lyrically or conceptually prodigious. But the dots are often so much closer together that the “mysterious,” “gotta listen to this =again=” quality that was all over JLP like a wet blanket is hit-and-miss in later collections. “Numb,” for example, seems =too= self-evident (and even “preachy”) (but I still love you, Al; I =really= do. Hahaha). And “Guardian,” while it =has= more distant dots in its lyrics, is musically so straightforward (most of the way) that it lacks the “environmental magic” of JLP masterpieces like “Forgiven.” Okay; ’nuff ego-satiating, mental you-know-what for now.
