But parents like Bibi Singh, who unwillingly switched her son to St. Barnabas after St. Anthony-St. Francis closed, remain bitter.
Singh asked her son, Ryan, how he feels as an eighth-grader.

Singh said she enrolled her daughter in public school because, ”for now, I don’t want to deal with the Archdiocese,” she said. ”There was no reason why they closed our school.”
Dedicated administrators and the Rev. Thomas Fenlon from St. Augustine School, which closed after 150 years, created The Legacy Fund to help finance students who wanted to continue their Catholic education.
