I like your answer I completly agree with that sentence… Alanis is not our friend because we did not know her… and it’s ok… but i think that sometimes she shows us her heart… and maybe this is the clue… the clue to make us feel so good, isn’t it? I remember when I listened her at the first time, as you, I was 16, my english was so poor, I did not understand anything!, almost nowadays I listen the old songs and I still find new things, new words that take another meaning. Maybe this is another clue to understand why she mobilize me so much… but the most interesing feeling that I experiment with her songs is… freedom .

I guess all questions can be made in this group. It comes from the forum (thanks @Aaron.Munro). And I didn’t chose Alanis, I don’t know how to explain it… I love the messages she send to all us with her work. Maybe coz of this I’m waiting her book… even when this book is now a myth… hahahaha

It’s that, the connection we felt the first time we listen to her. When I first listen, I think was Ironic, I just feel all that energy and some frustration in the song. I barely understand the song, ’couse back then I hadn’t learned english well, (and I still haven’t learn it as well as I wish, so sorry for my bad english)
But I think we all agree that ♥Alanis♥ said so much feelings in words that describes them well. I felt I’ve found someone that feel just like I do, that understand me, even when we don’t know each other. That’s the connection, we share a feeling, that goes beyond any explanation.
