VĂdeos Alanis: 1 year, 4 months ago Hi everyone,
If you like this song, I surely recommend THE CRANBERRIES with the songs linger, zombie a.o.
-
Hi!!! Linger and Zombie are so cool. I married with an Irish Man, live in Ireland and I always used to listen to Zombie, but only when I came I could understand more about the zombies they sing. It´s so cool!!! And I am happy I can play it on bass. I am a beginer, but so happy!!!!! Great!!!!!

Hi Débora, so yoo are married to a Higlander?, but I thought you were living in the lowlands(Holland)? Well it doesn’t matter to me. Sometimes I wanna be the Kurgan, because I feel so alive. At the same time I realize I am in this live for the long run. I am a beginner just like you and I like to be slowed down and beïng reactivated in moderation. I know this is all in my own hands from now on. It is my decision and only my decision wheater I wanna come out and play or hide in the shadows!
PS: did you watched the countdown to the new year 2012 on RTL4 with Hans Klok(Clock) using his second hand to outwise time? way cool!!!

By the way Débora, are you a left or right handed bass player? I used to play the guitar and I am ready to test the twelve snare theory. I don’t wanna play solo’s anymore with bends and hammer on’s. I like to assist the rhythm f.e. ”Head over Feet” with my yet to be purchase full bodied guitar with twelve strings at FEEDBACK ROTTERDAM, HOLLAND.
I think this is a nice version; don’t ya think Alanis looks like Rogue from the X-men?

Hi There. Well, just to clarify. I am Brazilian, married with an Irish man and living since 2009 in Ireland.
About the bass. I played violin for 10 years. I started when I was 11 and stopped playing when I went to University when I was 20. I still play the violin sometimes. I love classical music but in Brazil is difficult. Here in Ireland, how things with Job are crazy, I decided to buy a bass and learn something. I am right hand. I use songsterr. com to find tabs but there´s only rubbish in the internet. How I don´t have a nice sound system, only my computer to play, I can´t play by ear (and because I am horrible doing this, maybe because of the classical education I had. You cannot change Mozart like you do with guitar, then it is not Mozart anymore, did you get?)So, I am playing few things. Sometimes I know they are totally wrong when I play along with the song, but I cannot find the right thing. I would love to have classes, but pay for somebody it is not easy at the moment. So, I try to get things right and play what I can play. I would love to play more Alanis. But…I thought bass would be easier than violin. No, it is not!!:-D-
Thanks for the clarification Débora; I was of course when I saw you started the group Spirituality and Psychology for Dutch Fans of Alanis. I feel honored by the way; are among Dutch people that are fan of Alanis really into Spirituality and Psychology amongst other tings? Do you listen to the Corrs, they are Irish and one of the Corrs is playing the Violin, something for you?
PS: I now hola means hello in spanish, but in Holland it is also the brand of an icecream. OLA.
PS2: Sorry for the best whishes in Dutch…I will do it right this time:
That all your desires and effords may come back to you three fold; like you want, you need in live and can pass on to others that deserve it. Best wishes for 2012.

Don´t worry. It´s good to learn an other language. I think it´s amazing those who are able to speak more languages. My Husband speaks portuguese and German and knows some irish also. I think it´s amazing…and I love the way you right my name with the phoda É…nobody here writes my name right. Well, I speak portuguese. Brazil is the only country in South America which speaks portuguese. All the rest Spanish. I know the Corrs. Like some of their songs, but they are not that great…like Sinead O´Conor, not good. And I don´t like u2

Hi DĂ©bora, I have an addiction with pronouncing and writing names correctly, because except from my mom, her boyfriend, my stepmother and half sisters, nobody takes the afford of speaking and spelling my name like my parents gave me. It is Peter-Mathieu Kortsmit. Lots of people write Mathieu with double t as in Matthew and they always forget the Hyphen between Peter and Mathieu; I know I am official registered in the Dutch community with two first names Peter Mathieu, but last year I experienced how important that hyphen is to me; that is what connect my two sides Peter and the wolf. I don’t want to force people to say or spell my name correctly anymore…I listen to a lot of names, even ”HE, YOU THERE!!!” (only if I like that person a lot) I will just respect people that try! Thanx for sharing Peter-Mathieu Kortsmit.

-
So Peter-Mathieu Kortsmit, my husband has the same problem with his name. I heard him spelling his name thousand times. And nobody speaks it properly. Not even his dad who never knows with which son he is talking with.
But now that I know your name, I will always write it. Peter-Mathieu. (is the last your surname?) Well, going to play the bass now. See what happens:-) Cheers-
Happy Bass playing!!! :coolpeace:

Also, can you imagine Alanis in the beggining of her career with her name Morissette? She laughs about it. So funny. But I like yours.
-
Thanks DĂ©bora, it is a shame that your husbands father cannot speak his name properly or is this a joke? I know that a lot of people have a problem of misspelling Morissette. It is hard to forgive my mother for that, but she is my mother and I she doesn’t care like me. In the beginning I forced myself to write the name correctly; I like her that much. I don’t like when they write it differently or pronounce Alanis the fancy English way Alaaaanis. She is named after her Father Alan, right? But enough about her, let’s talk about me for a minute… I hated it when smug tight pencil lickers would like to convince me that you write Mathieu with a dubble t, like I cannot write my own name!!! My calling name is Peter-Mathieu and my surname is Kortsmit, but you can call me Thieu. All my friends do. Thieu.

Morisette is a French name right? I believe her father is from France and her mother from Hungry. I now that she has an older Brother named Chad and of course her twin brother Wade. Funny, the Dutch word for the sign Gemini is tweeling just as the translation of the word twin, so Alanis is a tweeling tweeling (Gemini Twin)Thieu.

His Father is 76 and is a lovely man. Sometimes when my husband calls them, he answers the phone and says: Kevin, Dennis (silence) Diarmuid…hehe Diarmuid is my husband. And Sometimes he doesn´t remember my name. But he´s a cute person. Even my husband couldn´t say his name properly until he was 9 or 10. He never new how to say his own name. Crazy. I know that Alan is her father, he wanted a female version for his name but didn´t like Alana, so reading a newspaper saw Alanis, a greeck name. Great this thing with Tweeling. I didn´t know. Her Father is Canadian, but the from the French part. I like your name. Don´t think is that difficult to say. And the worst names is from the famous people in Hollywood. Blue Bear (Pink´s son´s name) I think, Apple, Harper Seven (David Beckham´s daughter´s name) even EVER…But anyway, I like your name and thanks for giving me the chance of calling you by your nickname, Thieu. Also!!! You said you got lost answering the things here and finding. When people answers, you get an e-mail. Below the answer there´s a link that brings you to the exactly point. You click on the link, will open Alanis website on the page for you to answer and just in the right down corner you click on Reply. It will make it easier for you. Try then let me know.
Cheers my friend Thieu!:-)-
Hi DĂ©bora, thanks for the intructions to reply to f.e. your mail. This works much better and it is more clear to me now. Without help of other people where would we be…? Diarmuid is a lovely name and so different than Kevin and Dennis. Not that those aren’t nice names. (Kevin Kostner, Bacon an Spacy) I have met a couple of Dennisses in my live and one co-worker of mine is named Dennis. So Alanis is partially Greek?…kidding. You don’like the name Ever? I love that name; you can use as a word in a sentence and it got a whole different meaning like For Ever Friends that is the trademark of the bear with harts. Alanis evan sang in 21 things I want in a lover: I could wait For Ever…Weird if you think about it; would she have known that she would bare a son in the future and how strong a woman you would have to be to say to Mario we call him Ever? Now I believe that most men have no say in this and that they are able to agree with their woman, because they love em and just want to co-exist to lift each other on a higher level! Cheers to U2 eeehhhh…You to; I am drinking a Bacardi and coke as I type. Bye DĂ©bora.

Yeah! Don´t tell me about people helping each other. In Brazil people love to help each other and make favor. I am fuck´n trapped in Ireland and needed help but nobody from my husband´s family helps. It´s weird. I am feeling so sad today and so homesick. Sorry for teeling you this.
did you see that somebody created a group for the lost harmonica? Alanis promised a harmonica for somebody here in the group when she started the new website but nobody knows about the harmonica. Weeeeird. I like the name EVER and the reason why she chose. Well, we talk later. I am not in a good mood. Sorry
-
Hi DĂ©bora, you don’t have to say your sorry about telling me this. What is wrong with sharing your feelings? I don’t have a problem with that. I can understand that other people might, they won’t react or tell you they don’t want hear about it. Sometimes that is hard to swallow, because you only want to speak your mind and Your thoughts on this straight. You sure don’t want to keep walking around with them. So it is nice that there are people who are willing to listen to you. I understand the homesick a little bit. I moved in Holland from the province Northern-Brabant to province Northern-Holland. Holland isn’t that big, but I got to get used to the difference of mentality, so I was kind of home sick for a while. Do you take a vacation to Brazil sometimes? On Facebook she started the same promise. Like you said I think nobody is Ever going to win that harmonica, maybe she trows it in the audience at her next concert and some lucky bastard is going to get it. (make sure you are in the front row next time!) Everyone is entitled to not be in a good mood all the time and remember your mood is already not so good, so it cannot get worse but only better. Until writting, Thieu.

Hi Thieu. Thanks for that:-) I am going to Brazil in 12 days. My fligh connection will be in Amsterda. So, for few hours we will be closer
My family, in Brazil, has a Italian side. Warm people, happy, sentimental. Sometimes I really feel alone here. Probably my husband doesn´t like the happinness of my family too. But I feel that he also doesn´t like to be with his family too. Xmas he chose to be at home, only he and I. But there was no scape, today I am going to a party at his sister´s to give xmas presents. I hated the idea. Because one day I wanted to go out with his sister, just to talk, I was feeling alone here, and she said no. So, the presents don´t make sense to me. The other day I wanted to talk with my mother-in-law. Just to say hello. She hung up the phone after 24 seconds.
Crazy. But Anyway. About the Harmonica, I am really enjoying the new group about the harmonica, are you in already? If she is kidding with us, let´s do the same. We are not stupid.
It´s weekend. So, let´s have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-
Yeah I support the let’s have fun DĂ©bora. Good for you that you are going to Brazil in 12 days. Nice that your family has an Italian side. Sometimes I think that a part of me has Italian forefathers; I can be passionate about the things I stand for. That flame will still burn faster if I see injustice in the world. I have been told to leave it alone and mind my own business, but I can’t!!! This is my fight, this is where I live for. I cannot see how innocent bystanders doesn’t get what they deserve and that the rotten fruits on this planet will get what should be ours!!! When we are dead, they cannot get any richer. Why do they want to play Monopoly, when obviously this is an ending game. Try to be in a band that will unite people all over this beautiful planet in stead!!! Alanis did! I cannot let go of my ideals. I refuse to go quitly into that good night. I shall not give up without a fight. I will keep working to stay near the fire, but during my private time I will change into NeoThieu. I am fed up of being the white sheep all the time.
-
On a more personal note: how rude are your in-laws? I think it is absurd to hang up at your dauhter-in-law after 24 seconds!!! I can understand the side of your sisters husband; sometimes we need to say NO to protect ourselves. I know this isn’t nice to hear and very difficult to say to other people, but it helped me not to be treated like a dog all the time. It is just setting your boundaries to prevent getting to much on your plate. I like your thought DĂ©bora, normally I don’t believe in revenge, but Alanis never replied to my mails inspite I asked her to. I know she is a busy woman and she cannot reply to all her messages, but it would be nice to be noticed for once. I know that she reads my words and respond in her way. Sometimes I just want to conversate with her. Is that too much to ask for? She deserves to be messed with in a way she messes with us, but are you sure she cannot read our plans according to the ’payback’? Thieu.
