“That I Would Be Good”

that I would be good even if I did nothing
that I would be good even if I got the thumbs down
that I would be good if I got and stayed sick
that I would be good even if I gained ten pounds

that I would be fine even if I went bankrupt
that I would be good if I lost my hair and my youth
that I would be great if I was no longer queen
that I would be grand if I was not all knowing

that I would be loved even when I numb myself
that I would be good even when I am overwhelmed
that I would be loved even when I was fuming
that I would be good even if I was clingy

that I would be good even if I lost sanity
that I would be good
whether with or without you

This song helped me through most of my insecurities. The original SFIJ version reigns over all.

This is one of my favorites songs. This song has the ability to calm me down, to make everything more peaceful.
I remember myself in high school listening to it in “repeat”. It’s like the inner voice I should have had.
There is something relaxing about the flute and its soft breathing, like I’m inside a womb, or a warm and caring hug.

    Thank you.

  3. This song impresses me like no other!

And this song, your song, was played at the funeral of my little sister, who was one of YOUR biggest fan, Alanis!

Thank you so much for this song (and for the others aas well)!
